Just like every other existence on the surface of the earth, so is man on this planet earth. The history of everyone on this sphere therefore begins with the birth of such an individual. The case of Atiku Abubakar is not different from this assertion. According to the 18th century and renounced global writer of distinction, William Shakespeare, in his play titled "Macbeth", described status and position as follows, "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, while some have greatness bestowed on them". Today we have gathered on this auspicious occasion of the formal launch and inauguration of members of the National Executive Committee and the Southwest National Executives of ‘WAYS: Women and Youths Support’, to which it is my great pleasure to welcome everyone.
The Women and Youths Support is a body borne out of the realization of the need for: “To continuously advocate for the well-being, social justice and good governance of Nigeria where every citizen shall enjoy equal rights and unfettered freedom”
And our VISION is:
“ To ensure that the national unity of Nigeria is sustained and all Nigerians live in peaceful co-existence in any part of the country”
Our AIMS and OBJECTIVES are:
1) To protect the interest of Nigerians through effective advocacy
2) To ensure the unity and peaceful co-existence of Nigerians
3) To contribute to the restructuring of Nigeria through active participation in policy advocacy
4) To also Protect the rights, privileges and interest of members of the movement at all times.
In WAYS, Our focus is to mobilize the support of women and youths, market women, artisans, professionals, and all grassroot members across the country, for Atiku Abubakar’s presidential ambition in the forth coming elections billed for 2019.
The youth constitutes almost 70 percent of Nigeria population; and with such massive support from this section of the Nigerian population, the chances of the former Vice President and the PDP presidential hopeful for the 2019 presidential election will be very bright.
The man Atiku is a detribalised man, and not one of the run-of-the-mill politicians. And during his tenure as the Vice President of this country, he gave political backing to banking consolidation process to make way for economic growth in the country. He also oversaw the revolution of telecoms sector that created room for young people to have a flourishing career.
As the Vice President, he assembled what has adjudged the best Economic Team ever in Nigeria; which was made up of young, world class professionals, who came home to work for their great country, Nigeria.
Some of those professionals are now political leaders, governors and world leaders in their own right.
Atiku Abubakar has a proven record of recruiting and appropriately deploying young, unknown professionals. Many of the professionals he brought in were in their 30s and early 40s. Some of those young leaders have become ministers, and governors in their states.
Under his watch regulatory agencies such Debt Management Office, Bureau for Public Enterprises, Due Process Unit, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices Commission were established. He is a reputable Businessman of over three decades, and he is the second largest employer of labour in Nigeria.
Atiku is vastly knowledgeable in economy, and will create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the country, as well as involve more women in government if he becomes the President in 2019; as being demonstrated in his chains of business.
The former Vice President equally has the experience and mature disposition required to govern a multi-ethnic society like Nigeria.
Atiku is an upright man who stands on the pillar of truth and social justice; and he will bring the country out of its present socio-economic problems when he finally becomes the president of Nigeria.
It is common knowledge that the Nigerian political field is saturated with vain opportunists and charlatans whose singular ideal is to return to the electorate at the end of each four year tenure to beg for votes again. This situation has foisted on majority of Nigerians, the youths especially; a sense of non-inclusion, dejection, despondency, political apathy and, in some places, aggravation that the long awaited and much promised benefits of governance, or ‘dividends of democracy’ as we call it, seem to be an illusion.
Part of the major objectives of the Women and Youth Support Group, is to create an all inclusive environment where the ideas of the otherwise neglected members of the Nigerian populace would be brought to bear in the art of governance, and a new definition is offered; steering the affairs of the state in the interest of the citizens and ensuring that development is even, and benefits all and sundry.
To this end, WAYS is supporting the candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubabakar, Waziri Adamawa, to become the next President of this our great Country, Nigeria in 2019; because, ATIKU is:
A- ACHIEVER, AVAILABLE
T- TALENTED, TEACHABLE
I- INSPIRATOR, INTELLIGENT
K- KIND, KNOWLEDGEABLE
U- UNASSUMING, UPRIGHT
ATIKU- is an ACHIEVER and always AVAILABLE

It is natural, at this point, to inquire if Women and Youths Support is a political party. While the body, which started initially as a social network and Non- Govermental Organisation, is not a registered political party; our objective is to enlist the support of our members, and network from across the globe in sponsoring and mobilizing for the election of candidates that we deem competent to hold elective positions in the country, especially the Presidency, and others.
May I state at this point, that our choice of candidates will be based on evaluation of the track records of such candidates; record of performance in hitherto held positions, physical, health and mental capacity, accountability and overall political competence.
Being stakeholders and professionals drawn from across different walks of life, we deem it especially appalling that the Nigerian political space is today peopled with individuals who have little or no interest at all in politics beyond amassing of individual wealth at the expense of the electorates.
We at the Women and Youth Support group are determined to see the end of unfortunate narrative, and midwife the birth of a New Nigeria, with particular focus on the 2019 general elections, as a veritable point from which to begin.
In view of this, we hereby encourage like minded individuals, who are desirous of being part of this intellectual revolution, to present themselves and we shall be glad to welcome them.
Therefore, a vote for Atiku Abubakar in 2019, is not just a vote to change the present reactionary, confused government; it is a vote to put Nigerians and Nigeria back into the track of development.
