W.A.Y.S FELICITATES WITH EX-PRESIDENT GOODLUCK JONATHAN ON HIS 61STBIRTHDAY; URGES NIGERIAN POLITICIANS TO EMULATE HIM
The Women and Youths Support Group (W.A.Y.S) for “ATIKU 2019” has warmly congratulated the former president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the occasion of his 61st birthday and the launch of his book, ‘My Transition Hours’.
In a release signed by the National General Secretary of the group, Mr Christian Aburime and made available to the media, said the National President/Global Co-ordinator, Princess Kemi Adesanya-Eboda has joined millions of well-meaning Nigerians to felicitate with His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on the special occasion of his 61st birthday and book launch
In the statement, Princess Kemi Adesanya-Eboda, described the former president as a man of peace and a democrat to the core, who is a living hero of Nigeria’s nascent democracy. She said, indeed, Jonathan demonstrated love for country first when he made his famous statement that he is “a president whose political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigeria”.
She stressed Jonathan lived up to that statement when he voluntary conceded defeat to General Mohammadu Buhari before the official results were declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the 2015 presidential election. She said from that singular action alone, Jonathan earned tremendous respect from the international community who saw him as a symbol true democracy in the African continent
Princess Adesanya-Eboda further added that the gathering and physical presence of who is who in the Nigerian political firmament at Jonathan’s birthday and book launch was also a confirmation of how he is highly regarded and respected by the political gladiators in the country. She therefore urged other politicians to emulate the exemplary style of Jonathan by always putting the country first above personal interest or political ambition
